Born in Hong Kong, Yui Hang (Peter) Ng is a photographer and multimedia artist based in Montreal. With a background in film, art and technology (dual BA in Computation Arts and Computer Science with additional training in Film Animation), his work revolves around the intersection of these interests.

His fascination with photography is based on his belief in the power and complexity of the still image. Intrigued by the mysteries of life, along with his interest in humanity, art and technology, his observations channel heightened moments of reality into film stills. Believing the way people look is not as important as the way one looks at them, his staged work seeks to depict social issues in a direct and humane way.

In a world where superficiality often trumps inner beauty, he seeks to create fictional narratives grounded in reality. By drawing ideas from seeds of truth, he hopes to show the beauty in the mundane and the harsh and hidden realities of life in the belief that an authentic image is more powerful than a superficial one.
